Wednesday Level 5 – Term 3 2024

In this level, we explore The Harold, a structured improvised format conceived by acclaimed American improviser and teacher Del Close and his ensemble. The Harold forms the basic, international language of long form and is the entry point into figuring out what works about playing themes, challenging theatrical and comedy convention, really focusing group mind in an ensemble performance. It’s jazz, an exploration of ideas. We combine the group mind of Level 3 and the character and scene work of Level 4 to end in an ensemble performance of a full length Harold. 

NOTE: This class is only open to students who have completed Level 4: The Scene.

This class runs for eight weeks: eight classes followed by a grad show on the weekend of the eighth week. 

Classes meet once a week for 2.5 hours.
