A Silent Film

In the spirit of Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, this show will transport the audience to the golden age of silent film. Lovers of cinema, physical comedy, and theatrically exaggerated facial expressions will enjoy an evening of improv structured around the beats of the classic silent comedies.

Witness Sydney’s most talented improvisers conjure a world of good-hearted clumsy protagonists, swooning beautiful lovers, and buffoonish, nefarious villains, brought to life with an entirely improvised piano score. Backstory, context, and dialogue will be projected as improvised title cards, the audience learning these details at the same time as the performers. While the cast must remain silent, the audience will be roaring with laughter.

Kultura

True cultural stories will be told and used to create a playful narrative of stereotypes, taboos, folklore, and use of languages and accents other than English. We will celebrate the funny, weird, and wonderful elements of our cultural backgrounds.
