Harriet Gordon-Anderson

Harriet is a Sydney based actor, voice artist, and improviser. She started writing and performing sketch comedy at Sydney University before training at WAAPA, where her focus shifted to improv for character and performance. She now teaches improv and acting in high schools across Sydney, while also working in theatre, film, and television.

As an actor, Harriet has performed in theatres across Australia with Bell Shakespeare, Malthouse, Griffin, Black Swan STC, Darlinghurst Theatre, KXT, The Genesian, and Sydney Fringe, Fringe World Perth and Next Wave festivals. Her work has toured to the Barbican in London, The Royal Lyceum in Edinburgh, and Lasalle in Singapore.

Her screen credits include Mikki Vs The World (ABC), Amazing Grace (Nine Network), Mr Inbetween s2 (Fox Showcase), Love Child s4 (Nine Network), The Secret Daughter s1 (Seven Network), and The Greenhouse (feature). She is also a working voice artist and her audiobook narrations can be found on Audible.

Harriet is a character-driven improviser who advocates for vulnerability and risk taking on stage and screen, and is a big fan of making a fool of herself. She uses improv techniques in every aspect of her career, and is delighted to be teaching at ITS.
