Come and have some playful, silly fun at after school classes Monday nights!
Are you a teacher keen to bring improv to your school?
Our teachers regularly work in and with schools to support drama teachers in finding innovative ways to approaching devising projects, creating characters, analysing texts, and more.
ITS AFTER SCHOOL
Learn the ITS fundamentals of improv and get confident with making it up on the spot! Dive into the concepts of ‘yes and’, making and accepting offers, yielding, extending, and advancing, listening, and reacting. You’ll get comfortable being spontaneous, thinking quickly, taking risks and working in an ensemble through performance games and scene work. Most of all, you’ll get to be playful and silly, and have a bunch of fun with like-minded folks.
ITS after school classes run for 8 week blocks during the year. Classes run Monday nights from 4pm – 6pm. We have a class for for students Year 7-9 (ages 12-14) and a class for Year 10-12 (ages 15-17). Both are open to students with any level of improv or performance experience.

Term 1 dates are from 3 Feb – 14 April 2025. Classes run for 8 weeks on Monday’s 4pm -6pm.
Term 2 on sale soon. Term 2 dates are from 28 April – Mon 23 June 2025. Classes run for 8 weeks on Monday’s 4pm -6pm. Please note there is no class on 9 June (public holiday).
Who are our tutors?
Our school holiday workshop tutors are all current teachers at Improv Theatre Sydney. They are trained and experienced improvisers, performers and educators who have loads of experience teaching and working with young people.
They have taught for ATYP, Marian St Theatre, Belvoir St Theatre, NIDA, Impro Australia, as well as in primary and secondary schools right across NSW and Australia. All of our school holiday workshop tutors have a current Working With Children Check.
