This workshop harnesses the power of metaphor to unleash the hidden emotions behind our everyday actions, the way we think about ourselves, and how we view each other. Explore the components for creating a metaphor, and discover how everything can be ‘metaphorisable’ when we are in a state of neutrality, presence and absolute availability.

Ideal for those interested in creating improvised theatre and building stage presence through sensory imagery, symbols, rhetoric, and the use of silence as a form of communication.

About the teacher

Andrea Ferpo is a multidisciplinary artist/actress in theatre, film, and advertising. She is a teacher of theatrical improvisation specialising in Sensory Improv, a creative and pedagogical method she has been researching for seven years and has shared in various cities in Peru, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, New Zealand, and Australia. Andrea is also a Psychodrama Therapist, having graduated in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is a professional photographer and vegan chef. She runs Marandí arte escénico, a multidisciplinary Improv Theater School in Lima, Perú.

Suitable for improvisers who have completed ITS Level 3 (or with equivalent theatre elsewhere, at ITS’ discretion)

This workshop is for people who feel comfortable exploring their emotions and the possibilities they can generate in an improvised scene.

This workshop takes place at Improv Theatre Sydney, 44-54 Botany Road, Redfern

Please arrive 10 mins early and ready for the class to start at 1pm.
