Jim Fishwick: Everything Everyone Here We Go
THE WORKSHOP
‘Atmosphere’ is one of the most nebulous things to capture in improv. Let’s try!
This workshop looks at how an ensemble can support the mood and genre of a scene, through stage picture, movement, pace, storytelling and character. We’ll bring to life the glowing eyes in the forest, the bustling Parisian street, the walls closing in, the bliss of the resort pool, and the litter of puppies. We’ll then put these to use in a show that night, which all workshop participants are invited to perform in.
Please wear comfortable movement clothes for the workshop.
Content note: This workshop deals with material that may be disturbing. We will address any boundaries in the room and have our own ways of tapping out when things get too much.
Accessibility note: Due to the visual nature of this specific class and its physical requirements, we are aware that it could be challenging for blind/low vision improvisers or performers with mobility issues to get the most out of the workshop and subsequent show.
However, we recognise that no one knows any performer’s individual capabilities and needs better than they do. So if you feel that this workshop is the one for you, drop us an email and let’s talk about whether it will work, and if not what alternatives we can provide. Participant safety and enjoyment are our priority.
