Improvise with Audio Description
Low Vision or Vision Impaired audiences can struggle to keep up with fast dialogue, quick character changes and miss out on object work or sight gags altogether.
Audio Decision (AD) has been introduced to screen and theatre to provide additional context and narration for a low vision audience, but is tricky to manage for improv.
Jett Thompson is a 15 year old student who has found this out first hand when coming along to shows and has provided feedback to help craft the workshop.
In this workshop Anna Renzenbrink will lead participants through a series of games & narrative exercises to discover how thoughtful improv easily lends itself to quality AD before handing over to Steve Kimmens to jam the classic verbal-in-the-dark longform format ‘The Bat’.
Select participants will be invited to join ITS Faculty Members to showcase skills from the workshop and perform The Bat for an ITS Friday Night show on June 2.
Cost: Donation – This workshop is being run via the Vision Australia Fundraising platform to raise $300 for Jett’s leadership program. To register, donate through the below link!
