THE WORKSHOP

Improvising as a duo is as much fun as it is terrifying. Taking away the backline, the troupe, the comfort of a third player to jump in and save you can be a daunting prospect. It is precisely that absence, the reliance only on your scene partner, that can foster a whole new sense of trust between performers, audience and yourself, taking the improviser to a whole new level of play.

2Prov is about trust, both in your partner and in your ability to control the stage. Plus, it’s a LOT easier to organise jams. In this intensive advanced workshop, taught by Carlo Ritchie, one half of acclaimed improv duo ‘The Bear Pack’, improvisers will build their confidence in performing as a duo; building a foundation of trust with their scene partner and honing the skills of two person play.

THE TEACHER

Carlo is an improviser, actor and writer currently living on Ngunnawal country. As one half of the acclaimed improv duo “The Bear Pack” he has performed across the globe, including the prestigious Kilkenny Cat Laughs and is currently an ensemble member for Australian improvised television institution Thank God You’re Here. He is a co-founder of ITS and has taught improv extensively, at home and abroad for the better part of two decades, which when he crunched the number and wrote it down, was slightly shocking!
