Follow Your Fun! – An Intro To Clown
There is fun to be had all around us, at every corner, in every moment – especially on stage. This one day experience, facilitated by Gaulier-trained clown Jeromaia Detto, will equip you with the tools and techniques to build self awareness and find your fun on stage! We will focus on exploring a variety of clowning techniques and skills including: Le Jeu (the game); embracing the flop; playing from impulse; complicité and connection; the pleasure to lie; and the power of simplicity. These focus areas will enable you to be more playful, lighter and more free on stage.

The workshop will cater to all levels, whether you’re a performer who wants a refresher on how to be playful or a beginner who has always been curious about clowning and wants to try something new!

Who is Jeromaia?
Jeromaia Detto is an award nominated comedian who has been studying and performing across the globe for almost a decade. He is a graduate of Improv Theatre Sydney and iO Chicago as well as having completed the full two years of study at Ecole Philippe Gaulier. Throughout Europe, Jeromaia has also performed in Paris, Edinburgh, Hamburg and with The Norway Clown Camp. His style is simple, silly and extremely playful, creating delightfully whimsical moments for audiences young and old. Currently he is touring his solo clown show MUSH and performing with The Lost Cabaret in Melbourne.

Jeromaia has taught improv and clown across the globe since 2017. He has facilitated workshops for university groups, schools, early learning centres, adult theatre companies, in the corporate sector and with academic groups.
