Extreme Characters with Inbal Lori

Have you ever wondered why most of us play “normal” or “neutral” characters most of the time? Do you have the urge to play characters which are bigger than life and/or are very different from you? Are you struggling with playing this kind of character in a believable way?

From my experience, when improvisers make the choice of playing an extreme character on stage, two main things happen: 1. They struggle between playing that character consistently and believably while keeping the scene going. 2. the scene will usually evolve around them and how “extreme” they are. This is why in this session I would like you to develop the ability to play those characters in a believable and focused way AND use these characters to tell beautiful stories in various contexts and situations.

About the teacher

Inbal Lori is a graduate of Art High School (1994) and Nisan Nativ acting studio (2000). She wrote and played on television and theater and has won prizes and scholarships for her acting and writing.
Inbal started improvising in 2001. In 2015 Inbal moved to Berlin and since then she has been teaching and performing all over the world in places like: the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Colombia, Japan, Nigeria, and all over Europe.
As of 2025, she is the artistic director of the Berlin Impro Festival. In a business context, Inbal is working and coaching companies like: Spotify, Disney, EY, Doberman, McKinsey, Rolls-Royce, Sky Sports and more.

Extreme Characters| 3 hr workshop | Wed 17 Dec | 6–9pm

Students show be comfortable with basic scene work skills and character work and with personal and direct feedback, suitable for those who’ve completed ITS Level 3 or equivalent experience elsewhere.

This workshop takes place at Improv Theatre Sydney, 44-54 Botany Road, Redfern

Please arrive 10 mins early and ready for the class to start at 6pm.
