What links Del Close, Keith Johnstone, Alan Arkin and Mick Napier is their foundational focus on commitment, honesty and truth. In this workshop we’ll dive into making choices that ground you into the relationship with your scene partner. We’ll focus on what choices make the stakes matter and how to use environment and stage picture to further your strong POV.

About the teacher

Rebecca Sohn is an Improviser/Teacher living in Los Angeles. A Chicago transplant, she’s an alum of The Annoyance Theatre, iO and Second City. She has appeared in plays at Steppenwolf, Remy Bumppo and No Stakes Theatre Project, where she’s an ensemble member. In a perfect marriage between her love of improv and plays, her iO ensemble, Almost Atlanta, improvised two-act dramatic plays at Steppenwolf. She’s got three solo shows under her belt: Hope is a Four-Letter Word, Live Bex Show and My Solo Show of All Duets starring Shirley Lame. Rich directed two of them and appeared in the first. TV appearances include AP Bio, Shrink, and Teachers.

This workshop is suitable for improvisors who have completed Level 3 or above (or equivalent).

This workshop takes place at Improv Theatre Sydney, 44-54 Botany Road, Redfern

Please arrive 10 mins early and ready for the class to start at 10am.
