All 4 ONE AND 1 FOR ALL with Daniel Orrantia

This famous phrase from The Three Musketeers is the basis for this meeting of improvisers, focused on building stories around one chosen protagonist. Together we will build the story of a particular character, their world, challenges and transformations. We will focus on a linear narrative that revolves around the main character by studying concepts such as narration, human truths and building by endowing. This workshop is designed to give the participants the opportunity to explore and test different narrative tools.

About the teacher

Since 2007, Daniel Orrantia has been helping improvisers around the world discover the power of play, connection, and storytelling. His workshops create a supportive and inspiring space where participants can take risks, embrace mistakes, and grow together as an ensemble.

Daniel has taught across Europe, the Americas, and Asia — from major festivals to intimate company residencies — and is known for designing experiences that both refresh and challenge performers. His returning collaborations with ensembles worldwide are a testament to his engaging, inventive, and joy-filled approach to improvisation.

All 4 ONE AND 1 FOR ALL | 1 Day Workshop | Sat 31 Jan | 10am – 5pm with a 30min grad show from 6pm

This workshop is suitable for students who have a foundation in scene work or are ready to explore performing in scenes without external direction. We recommend having completed ITS Level 3 or equivalent at our discretion.

This workshop takes place at Improv Theatre Sydney, 44-54 Botany Road, Redfern

Please arrive 10 mins early and ready for the class to start at 10am.

Wear clothes that make you feel comfortable and allow you to move freely, without large prints or distractions. Choose something a bit more special than your everyday casual wear, while still keeping it neutral. Bring a curious spirit, ready to explore the unknown, follow your impulses, and collaborate with others to create together.
