A Streetcar Named Hot Tin Menagerie – Showcase

For the first time since successful 2018 & 2019 Sydney Fringe Festival runs, ITS is bringing A Streetcar Named Hot Tin Menagerie back to the theatre!

Inspired by the plays of Tennessee Williams and set in the sultry summer heat of 1950s Louisiana, this is a modified version of the format designed to showcase the skills of advanced students taking a five week workshop.

From a single audience suggestion, a new one-act play is fully improvised each week spotlighting characters driven by ambition, desires and secrets.

Content Warnings
This is an improvised performance and could draw on themes typical of Tennessee Williams’ plays, including domestic conflict, psychological distress, trauma, sexual tension, power imbalance, sexism, addiction, loneliness, and abusive or coercive relationships.

The material may include heightened emotional expression and references to sensitive interpersonal dynamics.
